On August 23, 2023, we briefed students participating in the Tokyo Metropolitan University’s Global Discussion Camp (GDC)※ on our climate change strategy.

We focused our discussions on the “Environmental Building Reporting” program. This program, which will go into effect starting April 2025, will make the installation of solar PV systems on new homes and small buildings mandatory, the first of its kind in Japan.

The participants gained a better understanding of the program by learning about the reasoning behind the new program and the specific support measures provided for both housing suppliers and home purchasers.

The GDC students, who were from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and the U.K., engaged enthusiastically in a dialogue on energy issues during the closing Q&A session.

In addition to the TMG’s dedication to improving the urban environment, we will also continue to deepen our cooperative ties with other countries and international organizations worldwide.

※The Global Discussion Camp (GDC) is an international education program organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU) and universities that have established exchange programs. Students from partnered universities can join the Camp in Tokyo, where both international students and TMU students come together to explore global issues.
