On August 8, 2023, the TMG participated in “High-level Talks on City-to-City Collaboration towards Zero Carbon Kuala Lumpur 2023”, a seminar jointly organized by the City of Kuala Lumpur (KL), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES).

Governor Koike delivered the seminar’s opening remarks in a video message.

The TMG has been supporting KL’s decarbonization initiatives since 2019 when the two cities jointly launched a collaborative project.

In her message, Governor Koike expressed her hope that the parties involved in the city-to-city collaboration will continue to elevate each other on the journey to achieve a decarbonized society.

During the seminar TMG official outlined the TMG’s latest initiatives being implemented to achieve “Carbon Half”, the name of the city’s action plan to halve carbon emissions by 2030.

The TMG will continue contributing to global decarbonization in collaboration with Kuala Lumpur.
