On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, Ms. Milag San Jose-Ballesteros, Regional Director for East, Southeast Asia & Oceania of C40*, visited the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government expressed appreciation for our strong partnership with C40.

In 2022, the contributions of our collaborative project with the City of Kuala Lumpur to reduce carbon emissions from buildings operations were recognized and honored with a C40 Award. Additionally, a film exploring this collaborative project was produced for C40 Cities and the TMG by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions as a part of the Transforming Cities series.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will continue to play an active role in C40 to help address climate change.

*C40 (Cities Climate Leadership Group) is a global network of about 100 major cities combating climate change.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government joined C40 in December 2006 and has been a Vice Chair since 2007.
