Reducing single-use plastics: Tokyo visited Seoul to learn about their projects 🌎

On Tuesday, February 28th, Tokyo Bureau of Environment officials visited Seoul.

Seoul developed three different projects to reduce single-use plastics, which are generously subsidized by the city. The Tokyo officials visited a zero-waste cafe, which introduced a reusable cup deposit system to reduce single-use cups, a zero-waste restaurant container cleaning services, which partner with restaurants to provide reusable delivery and take-out containers, and a zero-waste market, which sells shampoo and detergent by weight. They also discussed these projects and exchanged ideas with Seoul Metropolitan City officials.

Tokyo will continue to promote initiatives that reduce single-use plastics, such as reuse and refill schema, while sharing ideas and knowledge with cities around the globe.
