On October 20, 2022, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike virtually participated in the C40 World Mayors Summit organized by C40 (Climate Leadership Group – a network of mayors of world-leading cities collaborating to confront the climate crisis).
The C40 World Summit of Mayors is a triennial climate action conference that also serves as a general assembly for the organization. The 2022 Summit was hosted by Buenos Aires (Argentina).
In the session “Putting People First in The Green Energy Transition,” Governor Koike presented Tokyo’s policies to achieve zero emissions by 2050 and introduced related initiatives including the solar power generation and green hydrogen initiatves.
