Introducing the Bureau of Environment hosted the “Circular Innovation Forum 2021”

On November 26, 2021, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government held the “Circular Innovation Forum 2021″ online symposium. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is working in collaboration with companies and implementing initiatives in order to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050. Some key areas of focus are sustainable plastics, establishing business models to help make the reduction of single-use plastic products through reuse more viable, and the application of innovative recycling technologies, such as horizontal recycling. In Europe, action plans to transition to a circular economy are actively being developed. The forum was attended by Japanese and European companies and organizations that are currently undertaking advanced initiatives to transition to a circular economy. It was organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in collaboration with the EU Delegation to Japan & the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation.
